Lost Grrrls

You’ve all seen the images that juxtapose Norma Jean on the beach with a thin modern day celebrity in a bikini, with the tag line, “Fuck society. This is more attractive than this.” (Arrow on the first “this” pointed at Jean, arrow on the second at the modern celeb.)

I don’t have to tell you all why the message is so, so, so fucked up, but I’ve gotten into a few arguments on facebook about it, and seen other women I don’t know fight my friends who posted those. It was nice to see on those other women getting into it on days I didn’t have energy to, but still discouraging because my friends just backpeddled with, “Well, I just like curves!” Maybe you do, buddy, but you’re also not looking at what the fuck you’re actually saying by promoting this message.
