No longer homeless, this family moved into 702 Vermont Street in Brooklyn, NY as part of December 6 Occupy Our Homes action.

Fuck yes.

nobody better remove this family. seriously, banks and police stay away from this good and beautiful thing.

There’s a statistic that’s been going around that there are enough empty homes in the US right now to house every homeless person comfortably…

If that’s actually true, it’s pretty sickening and a really sad example of how capitalism/consumerism has made us think… That whole attitude of, “Well, it’s not theirs, so they shouldn’t live in it,” instead of thinking, “We have all this lovely empty shelter that’s not being used by anyone. Maybe we should let some people who don’t have homes live there? Get the intended use out of it?”
